Fans Around the World: Good Luck Sonic Part 2

Before we start the today's history a quick new: A new DIGITAL Sonic Game has been discovered "Sonic Dash". As you can see in the photo. The days are running and we are waiting for the anounce of the AAA Sonic Game. So we will continue waiting.

Today we have the Story of Christopher Sky from the United States.

"When you listen to your heart it will tell you more than just what is good or bad"

MY experience with Sega started before Sonic ever became a pixel animation (Gale Racer is a good example). He was merely another hype like any other game character, but his whereabouts we're always high in appearances. Then once he became a video game in 1991 no one thought for a second, this guy was way past cool.

He became merchandise, games, tv shows, comics and kids meal toys. As a raging fan I had to own everything. I always read the comics as to jump myself into his actual world and better understand what he stood for and why. The TV shows we're my joyful entertainment before school and on weekend mornings. Involving myself as much as I did, he became my childhood hero.
I learned to create my own morals through him (and partially through mom and dad). Like most who worship and praise a God or deity, people have to believe in something or the drive to do good is merely friction of the feet and emotionless. I felt like through him I could be as just much help and a good influence on my friends and family and never give up, like he did.

To this present day, I still use him as a means to be an influence. When you listen to your heart it will tell you more than just what is good or bad, it enhances you with feelings of accomplishment and right from wrong is clearly easier to grasp.

So on my 24th birthday I got my first tattoo of him on my right arm to remind me of whom I stand for in this lifetime. I have a love for music just as strong as my love for him.
My goal at Sega is to share and influence the newer generation with my experience. While also at the same time enhancing gamers experience with unforgettable gaming.
Thank you for your time.

Fans Around the World: Good Luck Sonic Part1

Welcome to the New Section of SonicCrew: Fans Around the World.

Sonic is about to have new homes in PS4, the new Xbox and WiiU, I asked people to send their histories about all experiences with sonic in the past years. If you want to we publish your history, send us an inbox in our facebook

We want to say SEE YOU SOON and GOODLUCK to Sonic by remembering all the great moments we have spent together.

So, let's start with the first story: "Stasis" from England

"Just smile, That's all I need"

When I was a kid, we had a little megadrive (model 2, and it had a Sonic Sticker over the top of it) and we had sonic the hedgehog and the sequal (+ alot of other games that i dont really care for) the interesting bit is, it appeared to be a, well i have Never seen another megadrive with a sonic sticker on, and we had the promo one from back in the day (the model 2 where you got sonic with it)

And Sonic the hedgehog was my very first videogame, (i was like 2 when i first played it!) then, we had someone come in and stole the megadrive and all the games.

ALL my brothers things, and my dads car (police said there was no evidence) and its a bit fuzzy, but i think i was about 4 at the time, but as a replacement of having the megadrive i got given (and i played it ALL the time back then) a Dreamcast, with Sonic Adventure!

3 months later all the disks stopped working, (cos they got scratched) and that was my early history with sonic! (in replacement of the Dreamcast, we got a n64 which is still with me now! and yer i have Super Mario 64, but im a sonic fan at heart)

My aunt gave me a book about 6-8 years later I cannot recall it at all, but it had screenshots of sonic 1 and 2, and i just looked at that like i thought sonic was a dream to me, and really ever since then, i have been playing the re-released titles, and i got a megadrive, sonic 1, 2 and 3 (and 3D blast flickies island) on it, and I love it!

I think Sonic's future will be interesting, I'm always up for a round at Sonic, but I don't dive out for the next release (im a retro gamer) but i did keep my eye on Generations, I personally like to think this, from Sonic 1 on the megadrive to Sonic 3 and Knuckles, it was 3 1/2 years, (which is the average life span of a hedgehog) (sonic 3 + knux, was the last good sonic game on the megadrive by fans) then it went downhill to 1999 with Sonic adventure, and its sequal, which was 2 1/2 years,

But theres a little intresting fact, SA1, was FINISHED in 1998 and the Dreamcast was still being worked on, so it makes it 3 1/2 years, it picked up again with colors, so, maybe its going to go downhill,
but if it does, im sure somehow, ill be there in 10 or so years when it comes good again! Just to have that first of the new good,

Im still weary on his future, but i think he will be about for a good deal of time and i hope he does,
Sonic does mean alot to me, i have been in the dumps a few times, and always Sonic would be the one there to say "Just smile, Thats all I need" but I shall admit, my n64 did save my life a few times, but Sonic was the one that kept me "running" as it were.

Everybody in UK are Super Sonic Racing!!!

BETTER LATER THAN NEVER!

OK this is weird. When the great Sonic And All Stars Racing Transformed was released it sold well but it didn't hit any charts.

sonic and all stars racing transformed
Everybody Super Sonic Racing!!! :D
I was starting to lose the hope of see the new Sonic game in any TOP 10 but after more than 2 months of the game release without any reason the general public (not only sonic fans) are buying the new sonic game.

The charts has been:

Until February 11, 2013
  1. Dead Space 3
  2. FIFA 13
  3. Call Of Duty: Black Ops II
  4. Far Cry 3
  5. Hitman: HD Trilogy
  6. Ni no Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch
  7. Need For Speed Most Wanted
  8. Just Dance 4
  9. Hitman Absolution
  10. Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed
And now a week later I though that Sonic will fall down from the list because it's a game with many months in the market, and the strong competition but Sonic move forward step by step.
  1. Aliens: Colonial Marines
  2. Dead Space 3
  3. FIFA 13
  4. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
  5. Far Cry 3
  6. Assassin’s Creed 3
  7. Need for Speed: Most Wanted
  8. Just Dance 4
  9. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
  10. Halo 4
Also the sonic game its the only kart racing game in TOP10 not even LBP karting or F1 Race Stars can stand up against the blue blur!

Why this means so much for me? Because the general public is having interest in Sonic again. And being in the Charts means more prestige for the Sonic Franchise.

SEGA is recovering the Gamer's confindence in Sonic games, I wish that this can continue and in the near future all gamers will say "Hey, the new Sonic it's about to be available"

I really believe that if we spread the voice with our pals and SEGA continue releasing awesome games SONIC will return to N°1 someday.

Until then, let's spread the voice. All we can do will help!!!

Special Post N°4: Sonic All-Stars vs Mario Kart

Before I start this post I just want to say that I like both games, both are awesome titles to spend time with friends and please don't think that I will talk good about Sonic and bad about Mario just because this is a Sonic Blog.
No videogame war is better than a Sonic vs Mario!!!

I will be as much impartial as I can, I promise.

I will compare both SAGAS but I will put my atention specially on All-Stars Racing Transformed and Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 7

I will make an update of this post if a new Mario Kart its anounced later.

GAMEPLAY and Level Design.

Sonic All-Stars and Mario Kart are different ways to racing. Let me explain:

Mario Kart its like the MotoRacer gameplay: you mostly fight with the ROAD.

I have won some races with the help of the items, but I felt that most of the time I was fighting against the road and not so much with the other players.

Sonic All Stars has different style, This game prefers you to battle mostly with THE RACERS. Eventhough some roads have places in which you can fall from 1° place to last as a sample its the Race of Ages in which if don't handle well you will suffer.

Specially in Online Matches with Skilled players you will see a race in which you dont have idea of who will win because the desing of the road has the intention to have two or more players being head to head during all race and that is what I like from the sonic game: Being fighting all the race.

Who's better? I think it depends of what do you like. I like both but....

All-Stars Racing Transformed has something that Mario Kart doesn't: TRUE air and water sections.

In Mario Kart the handling of the kart its almost the SAME when you fly or in the earth, the kart just modifies his look.

In Sonic Racing Transformed the physics of the car, the plane and the boat are TOTALLY DIFFERENT and that makes you to change your strategy constantly.

WEAPONS

I think Sonic Weapons are more based on strategy than the Mario Kart ones. And does not unbalance the race as in Mario Kart.

In the Sonic game you have to decide if you prefer a quick shot (Ice cannon and the Firework shoot) with the risk of failing or a slower weapon (tornado and the clone machine) who follows the other racer and gives you time to move quickly in case of any other racer is pointing you with other weapon.

Also you have to be carefull if your oponent have the defender glove and can redirect your shot.

In Mario Kart in the last moment you can get a blue shell and all the effort of the others is ripped in pieces

The All-Star is also very powerfull but it doesn't come by random, you have to drive very well to receive it and the All-Star Attacks can be evaded.

I enjoy so much when someone got the All-Stars and I evade all his shots. It's almost perfect! you sometimes will have to fight against something most powerfull but you have the oportunity to beat it.

Career Modes

Both games have a lot of content to be played. I love the "challenge" roads in the sonic game like the Turbo Challenge, The Battle Race, The Ring Race, Drifts Time-Attack Races and others.

INNOVATION

This is when I consider Mario Kart Saga is overvaluated, with 7 games of the saga the innovation HAS BEEN MINIMAL.

I love both sagas but Sonic All-Stars Saga has innovated more with only two games than Mario Kart with 7 games.

And eventhough the critics always gived an 8 or more on innovation to mario kart, its just unfair that Sonic Racing Transformed only scored a 7 on innovation when it has been the game who bringed more new things.

I think it is just because of the game has the name Mario, if other saga has the same innovation as Mario Kart nobody would talk so good of it.

FINAL DECISION

I enjoy playing both games, this situation is like a FIFA-PES it depends of what characters you like most. It is other Sonic-Mario Battle.

I love when I play the sonic game and a friend argue me: "let's play mario kart and try to win again"

I reccomend both games BUT if I have to pick one, I would prefer Sonic And All Stars Racing Transformed in the PS3 Xbox360 or WiiU versions.

If you havent tried the new sonic racing game give it a chance, you will have a lot of fun!

If you alrady have it, ENJOY IT!!!!!

SEGA Netbooks

How many of you would like to go to school with a SEGA Netbook?

I want to go college with one of this!!! :D
SEGA has not launched any hardware product since DreamCast, but it seems like they will launch some Netbooks with Megadrive, Saturn and DreamCast themes.

In the following link you can find the specifications: http://ebten.jp/eb/spec/spec.html

It looks like is a strong hardware, Crysis 3 for PC could run without problems at medium-high.

By the way...

With the PS4 recent rumors I found this funny images of it.

Sonic Adventure 3,4,5,6?

Hi there pals, I'm taking a little break from college and I have been investigating some things that you may not know.

The interest of the gamers for SA3 is HUGE!, just an example, a few days ago I told you that my Special Post Nº3 was the most viewed post of all time.  Well the entry I wrote called Sonic Andventure3? received in just one day 1400% more views than my previously most viewed post!

I understand that many of you have a special interest with SA3 and I'm very excited too but I think you may want to know this.

How many Sonic Adventure Games has been released?

NOP, not only two. Let's make some history.

When Sega ended his career of consoles developers the Sonic Team chosed Nintendo Consoles as the new home for Sonic.

(FUN FACT: In Gamecube version of SA2 in the Chao Garden a MUSHROOM was available for feeding our chaos)

SEGA had a good future as a exclusive developed for Nintendo but without any reason, SEGA became third-party.

Official Version said that SEGA had economical losses for their Sports Games in GameCube and they decided to make Sonic appear in all consoles to recover some money.

BUT some fans believe that SONY warned SEGA to retire all their games if they don't release Sonic Games in PlayStation consoles. We may not discover what happened but...

When SEGA was about to release a new sonic game (fans believe that the game was the original SA3) they changed the name of the game WHY? Because of what happened with Shenmue 2 in Xbox: the game sold poorly, why? because nobody wants to buy the Part2 of something if they have not played Part1.

Just as an example, Did you think somebody will pay to see Harry Potter 7 if they have not see before Harry Potter 1,2,3... You Catched the idea?

Also Toejam & Earl 3 and Crazy Taxy 3 has poor sales in Xbox for the same reason. That may make SEGA decide to not put number to any new titles and that bring us to...

Sonic Heroes (SA3)

The last word on SA2 were “A new day brings new adventure, but for now rest easy heroes”.
Put the name Sonic Heroes to SA3 was a brilliant marketing idea: The people will not argue about not have availabe SA1 and SA2 in Xbox or PS2,

A last insinuation of this for HARD-DIE Sonic Fans: Look to Sonic Fingers, how many are up?
Why does Sonic make a 3 with his fingers?
An Insinuation of SA3?

Sonic Adventure 4 & 5

Game from Adventure Saga has some things in common.

Deep Story, "Adventure" Gameplay (Sonic without boost, Exploration)

Two Sonic Games has those elements in Common, I'm talking about Shadow The Hedgehog, and Sonic 06.

Today several rumors indicate that we may have SA3, but If that happen I believe is just a Sega gift to all fans who wants a game that have the name SA3.

Reflection: Don't Ask for a Name

I'm Aware that the people only ask a game for his name, if Sega finally release SA3 and don't have the Adventure elements the people will get insane.

Just an example, It's confirmed that the writter of Colors and Generations stories will write again the history for the new Sonic Game, I liked those histories but are not histories for an Adventure Game. Just imagine if the gameplay is not the same that Adventure style.

I and all people who help me with SonicCrew Community will receive the new Sonic game with open arms. We encourage you to do the same, it doesn't matter what game SEGA anounce, just enjoy it!  And if SA3 is anounced let's begin the celebration!

See you other day Sonic Friends!

SEGA is on the top!

After bad moments of millionare loses and hard moments SEGA has returned to the good way.
They have reported benefits of $32 millions.

GAMES

Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed has sold 930,000 copies in USA and Europe.

Sonic was a SEGA hero again. It's clear that Sega need
to the best Sonic to keep strong.
Other SEGA games:
  • Football Manager      730,000 copies
  • Yakuza 5                   580,000 copies
  • Phantasy Star Online  1,700,000 suscriptors

2012 Game Publishers Ranking

Sega is the 9° Game publisher during the last year with 29 unique titles and 44 total products. Their metacritic average score is 69.9
  • Best Overall Release:             Football Manager 2013                                86
  • Worst Overall Release:           Sonic the Fighters                                        47

SEGA got his highest metacritic score in years, eventhought Sega has fall from 7° to 9° place.

"The result of a fairly dismal success rate of 30% (leaving 70% of the company's 2012 releases with mixed-to-negative reviews). Sega released seven more titles last year than in 2011, but aside from a few PC titles, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, the result was mainly a sea of yellow scores, and no truly great new games."

I believe that SEGA can have a wonderfull 2013 if they release high quality games, the gamers are trusting again and now its the time to confirm their confidence.

Sonic Adventure 3?

Before I start, I want to tell you that all you will see are just rumors and some theories that the fans maked based on some insinuations.

As always I will try to make this with sence of humor.

What's the big deal with say ADVENTURE?

sonic adventure 3
Coincidense or insinuation?
Sega Community Team has been posting images of a Sonic Plush in Texas. In one of them Aaron Webber posted: "Sonic's Next ADVENTURE begins in.... the great state of Texas?

Kelly Parker (member of the Community team) has been taking pictures of Sonic in Texas saying "Sonic ADVENTURE in Texas"

sonic adventure 3
Take a look of the second photo,
Sonic is possing at the side of a giant 30.
I mean we are waiting the anounce of the new Sonic game, SA3 has been asked for millions of times and now, a couple of days before the anounce the Sega Community Team is posting pictures with the phrase "Adventure" everywhere.

Come on! Is so much coincidense for me!

Some History

Sega has a kind of love for the number 3.

sonic adventure 3
Kelly has posted other picture today

Remeber Sonic 3 and Knuckles? Well, I heard in Sonic Paradise that the game was released March 3 (3/3).
This year 3/3 is only a few days afters February 28 (the day in which Sega is suposed to do the anounce).

Could this mean that in February 28 we will a short teaser and the 3/3/2013 will be the official anounce of Sonic Adventure 3?

Also when Sega were developing SA1 they went to Peru to the Tikal Mountains and they taked a lots of pictures of a SONIC PLUSH!

In SA2 they went to San Francisco, a Sonic Plush went another time to the trip, Today Sega is making the same!

please don't act like this if SA3 it's not anounced XD

They are taking a lot of pictures in Texas saying a lot of times the word "ADVENTURE".

Also Some DEVELOPING TEAMS are IN TEXAS! including Retro Studios (Nintendo) and if you remember the Sonic Dimensions rumor said that Sega will work with Nintendo.

This is more weird! The only explaination (but not the most logic one) is that they we are talking of 2 Sonic Games one of them as a WiiU exclusive.

I really believe that Sega is insinuating something anyway.

Remeber Red Hearings?

In the last Sega post they put an "underline" message in their blog forming the word "Red Herring".

This is the when all gets insane. In the SEGA's livestream appeared a image of a Red Hearing being captured by Big the Cat.

When I saw it I remember the Big Fishing missions on Sonic Adventure.

Could this be another insinuation of Sonic Adventure3?

sonic adventure 3

Anyway I only expect to you give me your own ideas of what do you believe this can mean. You can submit me all your ideas in our facebook fan page

And Remember:
This could be just a BIG coincidense!

Hedgehog Day: Sega is playing with our minds!!!

You like to predict the future? This is your day.
Sega has showed a weird message in his official blog. Try to spot it:

Happy Hedgehog Day!
"On February 2nd in 1994, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was released in the US, and it was dubbed “Hedgehog Day”. For the past few years, we’ve revived this day as a holiday for all Sonic fans. We’ve got some great stuff coming up this year, but we’re not ready to talk about it just yet.
Instead, we wanted to show you one of the unique items we have in our office at SEGA of America. This is a 10th Anniversary Sonic statue signed by Tom Kalinske, Al Nilsen, Madeline Schroeder, and Shinobu Toyoda. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind piece of Sonic history, and it’s pretty amazing.
From all of us to all of you… Happy Hedgehog Day, and thanks for being true blue Sonic fans."

Did you see it? Some of the letters has a different case.
All the letters form the word "ernirehdgr" and if you play with it you can form the word "Red Hearing"
Come Michael Patcher What does it means Red Hearing?

This is not the first time Sega uses a hidden message to tease games. Some time ago they used the word "Berlin" to tease Sonic 4 Ep2 .
Why? Because a famous writter called Berlin wrote a tale called "The Hedgehog and the Fox"

And now prepare to let your imagination fly:

Even my University Math Homeworks are easier to decode
that the Sega Message.
WHAT THE HELL MEANS RED HEARING?

Let's learn some history: Samuel Pepys, a famous polítician wrote a famous newspaper that show with details how was the  restructuration who had England in 1660. In the February 28 entry he wrote that he ate "red herrings"
That can mean that Sega may anounce the upcoming Sonic game on February 28.
Sounds Crazy? Believe me, I think the same.

The other possibility is less crazy: In English the word "Red Herrings" ussually means "FAKE CLUE" in other words Sega is trolling us!
Fake clue! LOL

Other fans believe that consider the success of the release of Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 HD the upcoming sonic game may be Sonic Adventure 3, even more some fans believe that consider that "Red Herrings" is a clue about something related to BIG the cat.
Anyway, in few hours we will know the truth
